GIANLUCA BALDANZI

Gianluca Baldanzi Works on signal transduction with a specific interest in the biological role of lipid kinases in immune cell function and cell transformation.
-Involvement of DGKα in XLP-1 and WAS primary immunodeficiencies, focusing on its role in T lymphocyte signalling and its regulation by the SAP–WASp signaling pathway.
-Development of a new class of DGKs inhibitors in view of therapeutic use.
-Phosphatidic acid regulated proteins and pathways downstream to DGKs and PLDs. Involvement of phosphatidic acid regulated proteins in signaling of lymphocytes and transformed cells.
-Control of DGKs activity and their role in cell transformation. Study of tyrosine kinase and second messenger signaling regulating lipid kinase activity in transformed cells with a specific focus on DGKα role in cell survival, immune evasion and angiogenesis.
Past research activities: i) Signalling pathways promoting hepatocyte survival in preconditioned liver; ii) anti-apoptotic and pro-differentiative proprieties of Ghrelin; iii) lipidomic and peptidomic studies on COVID-19 patients.
