Lia is a PhD student from a joint PhD shared between Fiocruz Institute/ Brazil and Karolinska Institutet/Sweden.

Her work involves understanding how B and T cell functions are impaired in different primary immunodeficiencies. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology from Federal University of Ceará. As undergraduate student she worked on computational evaluation methods for ADME-Tox estimation of potential inhibitors for beta1 integrins. During her master’s degree in Science at Oswaldo Cruz Institute/FIOCRUZ/Brazil she studied the absence of integrin α4 subunit in T lymphocyte biology.
