Maria Pia is a staff physician and physician scientist in the pediatric Immunology and Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit, with extensive experience in autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation in adults and children, and mainly in Gene Therapy for the treatment of Primary Immunodeficiencies and neurodegenerative disorders (Prof. Aiuti’s clinical research group – Tiget). Responsible for the Pediatric Immunohematology Outpatient Clinic; Clinical Research Coordinator at Tiget; Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator; Scientific collaborator of several Phase I-II clinical trials of genetic and cellular therapy (including: gene therapy for Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome). Key person in the path of Marketing Authorization of Strimvelis, for the treatment of ADA SCID. Advisory Board Member for DADA2 Foundation. Researcher at University Vita Salute San Raffaele, Milan, Italy.

 

Member of a number of Scientific Societies and Working Groups Activities, as  ESGCT, ESID, AIP, IPINET, AIEOP, EBMT, SIP.
