Dr. Yoji Sasahara has been working on molecular functions of WASP and WASP-interacting protein WIP in T cells and immunological synapse formation, clinical care and allogeneic HSCT for patients with WAS and XLT. He presents the efficacy of rituximab for the treatment and prevention of autoimmunity before or in combination with conditioning followed by allogeneic HSCT in five patients with WAS and XLT, suggesting that B cell-intrinsic mechanism is clinically a central cause of autoimmunity.
